Job description

Tacoma Public Schools is currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals with a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children. If this sounds like you, we want you to #jointeamtacoma as a Substitute ParaEducator!

Paraprofessionals play a critical role in student success. These men and women come alongside students and teachers to provide instructional support in many ways in Tacoma Public Schools for every student, every day. 



Sub ParaEducators:

Proof of required High school graduation or equivalent (GED) is required, and

1. 72 quarter credits at 100 level or above from an institution that meets the Higher Education Act or

2. AA Degree or higher; or

3. ETS ParaPro Assessment with a score of 461 or higher.

Sub Paraeducator Special Ed:

Must meet all requirements for Sub ParaEducator (listed above) as well as current Right Response-Advanced training. This training is offered by the Tacoma Public School's Professional Development Department. Employees who attend are paid for these education hours.
