Job description

Position Title:                   Staff Accountant


Reports to:                         Senior Accountant


Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable.  In addition he/she will assist in the month-end close and will be responsible for monthly account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Raw materials inventory management

  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Prepare and distribute monthly customer invoices

  • Work closely with the Controller on month-end closing activities, including but not limited to journal entries, balance sheet and bank account reconciliations

  • Perform financial analysis on an as needed basis

  • Monitor daily transactions in accounting systems, e.g. SAP, LIMS (fiber purchasing system), etc.





  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • 3+ year of progressively responsible experience in accounting

  • Experience in a pulp and paper mill a plus

  • Must have accounts receivable, accounts payable experience

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills

  • Advanced experience with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook

  • Previous experience with SAP desirable

  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively, and work independently and in a team environment
