Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) is looking for someone who shares our passion for making a difference in people's lives. We enable public agencies to better serve the people of Washington through technology.

About the Division:
The WaTech Finance group provides financial management services to all managers and staff within the agency. These services include rate setting, business analysis, accounting, budgeting, and fiscal data and information development. The staff in the Finance group also work collaboratively with each other in the areas of budgeting, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
What would you be doing in this role? 
The Fiscal Technician 2 will be the primary cashier by posting the daily cash receipts for the agency. It will also provide support to accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation analysts by pulling financial data, filing, data entry, communicating to our customers, and being the primary contact for the accounting unit.

  • Serve as the primary contact for agency cash receipt related questions. Work with customers, other agency staff, and OST to resolve payment issues on customer accounts.

  • Support other team members with data entry activity.

  • Scan and file of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll documents.

  • Develop and maintain current cash receipts procedures and help with documenting processes and procedures.

  • Assist with year-end activity and archiving.

  • Process daily cash receipts including checks, ACH/wire transfers, and IAP's accurately and timely. Verify receipts, make bank deposits, enter the data in Computron and/or EVF, and process A8's in TM$. File daily receipt and JV documents.

  • Open mail from accounts receivable mailbox and assist in preparing daily cash lists of warrants/checks, received when needed.

  • Support research of outstanding in-process report transactions related to cash receipts to clear differences.

  • Maintain statistical data of daily cash receipts on spreadsheet and create graphs monthly to show trends of daily amounts and items received. Maintain collection spreadsheet.

  • Track and record any NSF payments and ACH reversals.

  • Call customers with payment discrepancies and prepare JV's as appropriate for overpayments.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of ten (10) quarter hours or six (6) semester hours of accounting credits. Two (2) years of accounting/bookkeeping experience can substitute for education or if currently enrolled in accounting courses.

An ideal candidate may also have these desired qualifications:

  • One (1) – two (2) years of fiscal experience are preferred.
