Role Description:



Summary/Objective:


Plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of Minority Veterans of America. Oversee the budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements, and benefits.

Tasks:



 


Establish and oversee administrative procedures to meet objectives set by boards of directors or senior management.


 


Prepare and maintain records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records, or training manuals.


 


Establish and maintain relationships with other agencies and organizations in community to meet community needs and to ensure that services are not duplicated.


 


Research and analyze member or community needs to determine program directions and goals.


 


Speak to community groups to explain and interpret agency purposes, programs, and policies.

Work Environment:


 


Telecommuting, professional office space and field locations. Telecommuting is available.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.


The employee will be expected to lift 20lbs for basic office work.


 


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 p.m. There are some evening and weekend requirements to attend events and meetings.


 


Travel:


Travel is required throughout King County primarily during the business day. Some travel may be required in the evenings and weekends to attend events and meetings.


 


Preferred Education and Experience:


Bachelor’s Degree. 1x year working with nonprofits; 2+ years project management experience.


 


Minimum Level of Education: Associates Degree


 


Minimum Level of Experience: 2+ year nonprofit experience, working with minority veterans, and project management experience


 


Additional Eligibility Qualification:


Basic understanding of inclusion, equity, and social justice concepts.
