Business Development Manager

Reports to Vice President

FLSA: Exempt

Location:  Woodinville, WA


SR Building Services seeks a self-motivated, high-energy, results focused Business Development Manager to join our growing team.  Successful candidates will have a professional attitude and succeed in a fast-paced environment.  We are looking for someone that thrives in improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. The Business Development Manager will work closely with all managers of service and production to provide for high quality content interactions to create new opportunities and assist in increasing close rates and margins on existing/in-progress opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within target area.

  • Responsible to maintain Target Client List.

  • Participate in developing target markets and clients with the Company leadership team.

  • Assist and manage identification and development of new customers.

  • Use available resources to generate and qualify new leads to ensure a full pipeline of business.

  • Create and maintain sales and Business Development budget.

  • Responsible for tracking individual sales efforts in ViewPoint.

  • Provide reports to leadership team regarding hit rate, sales reports, forecasting, etc. as requested.

  • Participate in vetting target clients and projects for both production and service in line with Company strategy.

  • Develop relationships with manufacturers to strategically approach projects.

  • Organize and hold “Lunch and Learns” and introductory meetings.

  • Assist in trade show booth and golf event booth logistics.

  • Assist in compiling and presenting “Give Away” item list.

  • Attend industry events, Association meetings and committee meetings.

  • Provide managers with association opportunities for others to be involved in.

  • Ensure customer service needs are being exceeded by all departments.

  • Assist in marketing efforts based on market needs and trends.

  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay current on corporate competitors.

  • Proactively anticipate problems and present solutions.

  • Ensure that documents are completed, accurate and in compliance with established procedures.

  • Handle daily responsibilities and requests from Management.

  • Understanding of and commitment to customer service and SR Building Services core values.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing and/or related field is preferred.

  • Equivalent work experience is acceptable in lieu of college education.

  • 3+ years of proven sales and/or business development history.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50 percent of the time.

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

  • Must be able to pass security background checks in DOD and other locations such as Boeing, etc.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to develop and cultivate new and existing relationships with potential clients.

  • Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat. Proficient in SR InSite and Viewpoint.

  • Ability to effectively manage Company and client demands.

  • Excellent grammar and written/oral communication skills. Excellent research skills.

  • Ability to be self-directed, work independently, self-motivate and be highly motivated with an excellence sense of personal accountability.

  • Ability to prioritize information and multi-task frequently while being timely with tasks.

  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational and accuracy skills. Dependable and trustworthy.

  • Ability to receive constructive criticism and feedback and translate into process improvement.

No travel outside Washington is anticipated unless deemed necessary for trainings or other Company needs.  Travel to jobsites in the region is required.



While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud in the field.  Part of the time, this position operates in a typical office environment, spending time at a desk, typing at a computer, talking with people in person and on the phone, taking notes and using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
