Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION (POSITION SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): Aircraft Servicer: Must be licensed in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT and tank truck endorsements). They shall be/remain in compliance with all such requirements for the duration of their employment under this contract. The Aircraft Servicer will be trained and familiarize him/herself in airfield driving and receive certification on airfield safety regulations applicable to aircraft refueling (cold). Must be able to demonstrate/operate refueling and de-fueling truck system components after completion of 80 hours OJT. Requires the ability to work flexible hours in support of Bulk Storage and Cold Refueling objectives at Yakima Training Center (VAGABOND). Performs daily fuel circulation on refueler tank truck for quality assurance test using Aqua-Glow Field Kit to ensure clean, clear, bright fuel issued to aircraft. Aircraft Servicer shall pass a base and flight-line familiarization test, a practical equipment/facility competency test, and shall be certified as qualified. The individuals’ training record shall be updated prior to the unsupervised operation of any fuel servicing equipment. Aircraft Servicer/FDSO will be trained to make basic input into the Fuels Manager Defense program (FMD) and maintain dispatch logs.

FDSO: Receives, stores, transfers and issues fuel at truck fill stand and retail fuel stations; receives fuel by tank truck trailer; inspects shipping and bill of lading documents; connects discharge hoses and bonding cable; draws fuel samples for visual inspection; checks API and flash point. Manually gauges tank; must be able to convert volumes measurements and corrections to 60 degrees using the ASTM to Net quantity and submit to Accounting Clerk for end of the month inventory. Inspect Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) system and able to investigate alarm(s) malfunctions and reset to normal operation. Perform daily, weekly and monthly facility and equipment inspection and report to Terminal Manager for corrective action. Performs minor preventive maintenance; assists other government contractors; performs quality assurance checks and completes reports; performs general housekeeping and grounds maintenance around fuel terminal, pipelines berms and dike areas.
